Meet our new CISO- Tony Howlett

Hello, I’m Tony Howlett, the new Chief Information Security Officer at SecurLlink.  I’m very excited to be here at SecureLink and I’m super passionate about the market we serve and the mission of making vendor privileged access secure and efficient. Coming from my previous position as a CTO at a security consulting and MSP company, I am really aware of the issues and challenges that companies in regulated industries face when trying to provide non-employee third parties, such as IT vendors, with access to their networks and systems. When we used to audit these types of companies, we often found insufficient controls on third-party access. Plus, third-party risk management has become a real hot button with other examining agencies, like regulators. Having a clear and detailed audit of vendor activities is equally important for examiners, auditors, and forensic investigations. SecureLink’s platform does both of those things in a turnkey vendor privileged access management solution that provides the proper controls over authorizing and provisioning users with industry-leading HD audit features including videos of graphical sessions such as RDP and VNC and key-stroke logs of command line based services like SSH. I think it solves a lot of problems for corporate IT departments while letting their CISOs sleep well at night knowing security and compliance are taken care of when it comes to third-party access.

My job here is kind of unique among CISO roles, as is not only to keep the corporate infrastructure of the company secure, but also make sure our product is secure, complies with regulatory standards, and has cutting-edge features that customers need.  Additionally, I also work to keep our customers informed about the latest news in infosec via publications and an active blog and knowledge base. Beyond the day-to-day job, the culture is so cool and unlike anywhere else I’ve ever worked at. I’m really loving it here and looking forward to helping the team innovate with vendor privileged access management solutions!
